As we already mentioned, Ropapharm international supplies only products of a pure organic nature. There is a general increase in resistance to antibiotics in feed. The danger of resistance to microorganisms is an enormous, worldwide problem. Many diseases, once easily treated with antibiotics in animals and humans, are now harder to cure. The potential residues of antibiotics and sulfonamides in meat, milk and eggs raise additional food safety concerns. Human consumption of these residues can result in resistant pathogen species and further endanger human life. This danger does not affect Ropapharm International products.
According to The World Health Organization report (June 2000) the problem is getting worse. “In the last few years, evidence of the range of public health risks associated with the use of antimicrobials has grown stronger. The WHO noted that, excessive use of antimicrobials in food animals contributes to the development of treatment-resistant bacteria that can be transmitted to humans, mainly through food”. It’s difficult to measure precisely the impact on human health with the use of antibiotics in farm animals, but experts believe resistant strains of Salmonella, Campylobacter, Enterococcus, and E. coli have already been transmitted from animals to humans.
